Over the past few weeks we have just been spending as much time as we can with the boys before they go back to school doing various things. We went to the Montana Fair a couple of days. The first was a night out for mom and dad to a Sugarland concert, which was great. A couple of days later we took the boys and rode rides all day. Aunt Holly, Travis and Grandma Sherry met up with us and the boys had the best time going on rides with everyone. We took the boys fishing several times and once we put up a tent by the pond and camped out. It was a lot of fun even though mom and dad realized that we are getting too old to sleep well on the ground! Some friends from church gave us their old trampoline as their kids are growing up, so the boys have had a blast on that this summer. Also, I spent a lot of time with the boys at the pool, and dad took several days off to come too. Dylan and Colton both did really well in lessons and can now swim on their own. Their favorite thing to do was jump off the diving board, since they can each swim back to the edge alone now. Dylan took his test on the last day the pool was open and passed, so he can now enter the deep end without an adult. He was so excited and we are so proud of him for doing it! We went to a Billings Mustangs baseball game and the boys had a blast. It was the first one they have been to. The last day of summer break we hiked to Island Lake, about a 1 mile hike in the mountains behind our house. The boys fished for a little while, then realized how good the water felt (although a bit cold), and they decided to go for a swim. On Monday Dylan and Colton started school. Dylan is in 2nd grade and came home very excited about the new year. Colton is in kindergarten and talked non stop about his first day, when he came home. He was only a little hesitant as we walked in the door, but quickly decided we could leave so he could play. I have to admit that I was a little emotional leaving him, but I know he is ready and excited about school. Logan was a little lost in the morning without big brothers to play with, but I am sure he will adjust quickly. It seems like each summer goes faster than the last and this was no exception. We had a great time really spending some quality family time together.
