As we are just getting into calving season, I'm sure I will have many more photos later on to post, but I couldn't help but put these few on now. We have 40 heifers to calve and then in April will start with our older cows so we will end up with about 200. Out of our first 5 heifers we had 2 sets of twins, which means 2 bottle calves. Unfortunately we lost one of them on Saturday which was a pretty hard reality for the boys. They, like me, get attached pretty quickly to the cute little babies. The other one is doing well though. On Sunday we tagged and turned out all the new babies so far. The boys all got to rope a couple (yes even Logan!) and help dad hold them while he tagged them. The boys absolutely love calving time. Especially on weekends when they get to help night calve. I'm sure the neighbors thing something wierd is happening in our field though with each little boy shining flashlights all around like aliens!
